This past week the Grade 11 students all participated in a TEDxYouth event. The purpose of the event was to offer IB Diploma students from both local and international schools in Singapore an opportunity to listen to a series of TED-style talks on global issues and to work collaboratively in activities related to the topics raised. This year’s event involved seven different schools and eleven different student presenters, three of which were from ISS - Kinari, Hesper and Rin. The feedback from the event was very positive from the students and teachers and we hope this will become an annual event on our High School calendar.
This coming week our Grade 10 students will be taking their Mock exams for their e-Assessments which will provide them with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the format of the examinations and the expectations. Students will be provided with formative feedback once the results are returned from IBO through their subject teachers and also guidance for areas of improvement before the final exams in May.
Last month we recognised the IB Learner Profile 'Thinker' - "We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyse and take responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions." (IBO, 2006)
