This weekend we had six Business and Management students; Dhruv, Sharaf, Kinari, Bilal, Ela and Yuri attending the Junior Achievement Fed Ex Challenge workshop held at Singapore Polytechnic. They got to work with other local school students and Bilal and Dhruv made a presentation on their product in front of a 100+ audience in the auditorium of Singapore Polytechnic's School of Business. Mrs Leena Palekar accompanied the students and has been in the forefront of providing mentoring and expertise as they prepared to compete in this Trade Challenge. Over the next 3 weeks - the students will be busy working in teams of 2 as they prepare their Trade Challenge. The theme this year is to recycle jeans into a new innovative product and market it in Indonesia. It is very competitive with hundreds of teams submitting their Marketing pitches. We wish them all the very best. To read more about the event, please click on the website http://www.ja.org.sg/
Our grade 9 and 11 students have completed their exams and will be receiving results this week. It should be noted that the exams are one of many methods that are used to gather data and provide students with information to help them assess their own performance, and gain a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. They also provide critical data for our teachers to use to enhance their teaching and learning practice to better meet all our students needs.
Our grade 10 and 12 students have one more week of exams ending on Friday 20th. Our grade 10 students will return to school on Monday 23rd and will begin three weeks of Pre-IB units in each of the DP subjects they have chosen for next year. All students are expected to attend school, even if they are leaving at the end of this academic year.
On Friday 20th May at 6:30pm our grade 12 students will be attending their 'Graduating Ceremony'. This wonderful event will be held at the NTUC Centre and begins at 6:30pm. The ISS Community is warmly invited to attend this auspicious event and tickets can be collected from the HS Office at Preston road. Please contact Miss Pat at [email protected] for further information.
