Our Grade 12 students completed over 23 exams in a range of subjects across 5 days and have a further 3 days of exams - finishing on Wednesday 27th January.
Last month we focused on the IB Learner Profile Open-minded. '"We critically appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. We seek and evaluate a range of points of view, and we are willing to grow from the experience." (IBO, 2006) The following students are acknowledged as being open-minded:
Ju Eun Park (June)
Pu Tiany (Tam)
As you now know, our Grade 9 and 10 students will be taking the ISA assessments on February 2nd and 3rd. Please refer to the letter sent home last week if you have any questions about the assessment.
The first PTA meeting of this semester is on Monday, 1 February at 1 PM in the Elementary School’s MPR on the 3rd floor. Rie Miura-Lee, Trainer/Psychotherapist/Counselor, will be discussing the topic “Raising Children Overseas.” Rie is a Certified Social Worker and a Certified Trainer of “Active Parenting Japan.” She has a Master’s degree (M.S.W.) from Columbia University in New York. Her extensive experience includes counseling jobs at hospitals, schools, and counseling centers in the USA, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan. She provides training to develop parenting skills in a cross-cultural perspective to assist your children’s healthy development overseas.
Fun Fair & Book and Toy Donations
On Sunday, 13 March from 12 – 4 PM, we will hold our annual Fun Fair. Please see the attached flyer below.
As many of you are aware, every year the PTA solicits donations of gently used books and toys from families and sells them at the Fun Fair (proceeds go back to the school). If you have any books or toys that you would like to donate, please send them into the high school office. Thank you for all the donations that have already come in!
Are you or someone you know interested in running your own booth or stall at the Fun Fair? You can sell cupcakes, bread, earrings, bracelets, art, etc. Please complete the form here and we will get back to you soon! https://goo.gl/dlWpgg
Volunteer Opportunities – We need your help!
We are always looking for parents to help out at school and PTA events; you will enjoy interacting with the kids, becoming friends with other parents, and knowing that your contributions are truly making a difference. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
