The excitement in our school hall on Wednesday was electric as our Grade 9 students gathered for the first ever Robotic Challenge at ISS. Students were engaged in coding, building and team work as they created Lego Robots to meet the challenge of manoeuvring their robot around a track, collecting and avoiding obstacles and this was to be completed in a certain time. Great fun was had by all and wonderful learning opportunities. Congratulations to the winning team: Camel - Euijin (Rachel) and Nyam Erdene (Ed).
We also enjoyed an evening of music organised by Kristel Tretter and the MYP and DP music students. Our Festival of Lights has been part of our high school for three years and has grown in the number of performers and the size of audience every year. Our Block 5 courtyard is transformed and the performers successfully whisk us away into an evening of beautifully performed and played music. This year, the Art students joined the evening and showcased their master pieces too, it was truly a wonderful evening.
Week Without Walls
This week we will be processing Visa's for the students that require them for entry into Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines. All students affected have been contacted and must bring their passport and two passport size photos to the school office.
Absence from School
A reminder that all students are expected to report to school up to and including the 18th December for continued learning. For the first time as part of the 'Next Chapter' for the IB MYP programme, our grade 10 students are working on the e-portfolio's in four of their MYP subjects and will be assessed during the last week of the semester. The e-portfolio is one of the many important components that will contribute towards the award of the MYP certificate and hence attendance at school is extremely important.

Congratulations to the students and teachers involved in the SG50 Jubilee Walk, on 29 Nov 2015. Mr Kim and Mr Whitehead supported the students that took part - Riho, Guo, Angus, Sharaf, Gabby, Camille, Yi Fan, Insung, Ying, YiGe, and Bethany.
The next steps in our improvements to security at our Paterson and Preston Campuses.
