We have had a busy week at the High School, which started with a visit from Daniel Foley who is from a Performance Exchange Theatre Company and ran a number of Shakespeare Workshops (language, poetry, rhythm, acting and staging) throughout the day for our students studying drama, theatre and English language and literature. The students throughly enjoyed the plays and also gained a deeper understanding of Shakespeare's work.
On Thursday, we celebrated the end of the Personal Project journey for our Grade 10 students. They presented their projects to Grade 9 students, parents and teachers during the MYP Personal Project Exhibition. The Personal Project is a wonderful learning experience for our students and prepares them for the Extended Essay in the IB DP programme.
We ended the week with a wonderful display of teamwork by our U19 Basketball team. They played against Nexus for first place in the 3rd Division, and their efforts were rewarded with a clear win, receiving Gold. Congratulations to Mr Bell for all his hard work and committment in coaching our A team, and of course congratulations to the boys. Five of the team will be graduating this year, and already we have many boys being prepared for the challenges of playing in the A team next year.
We have our ISA tests this coming Monday and Tuesday for Grade 9 and Grade 10 students, and on Thursday and Friday the Grade 10 students have their Mock exams. To prepare for the tests and exams, students should have their computer charged the night before, get a good night of sleep, have a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school relaxed and on time. An email went out to all students with the time table and rooming.
Upcoming events
Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th - ISA testing (Grade 9 and 10)
Thursday 16th and Friday 17th - Mock exams (Grade 10)
Wednesday 22nd - PTC and IB Art Exhibition opens
