A huge thank you to all of the parents, staff and students who made the fun fair such a special event on Sunday. It is days like Sunday that really highlight what a great community ISS is. Our Student Council once again cooked up a storm with their homemade beef burgers and quickly sold out. Great team work and we all look forward to next year's fun fair.
On Friday our DP Music students entertained us with outstanding music at the Library@The Esplanade. This was the last opportunity for the Grade 12 Music students to perform in public before their final examinations in May. We were not disappointed and the quality of playing was absolutely wonderful. Congratulations to all of the students that played and to Mr. Hoddinott for your guidance.
Last Thursday morning, Fang Shelly and Urs Jungo held an IB Diploma and Middle Year Programme education session. During this time they discussed a number of areas integral to the DP and MYP, including Approaches To Learning (ATL) and the assessment process. Urs and Fang were able to answer many questions and this enabled parents to walk away with a little more insight into learning in the DP and MYP.
PTA
The PTA would like to invite you to attend their next meeting on Monday, 6 March at 8am in the Elementary School MPR (3rd floor). The topic will be: GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS IN A DIGITAL WORLD.
Our guest speaker, Colin Gallagher, will be hosting a session where we will take a critical look at the use of social media and technology in today’s world and how parenting has been affected with the emergence of digital devices in our daily lives. We will also discuss a set of guidelines that our parents at ISS have developed for navigating this world with your children.
Directly after the meeting there will be a field trip for parents to the Kranji area of Singapore - if you have signed up please ensure you are in the carpark (Paterson Campus) by 08h50am as the busses will depart at 9am sharp. This trip has proven to be very popular and all seats are currently filled, and due to the overwhelming response the PTA will put on another trip in the coming weeks - so keep watching our Facebook page as well as emails for details.
