Welcome back, I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. I cannot believe we have already finished our first week of school. We have seen our teachers and students busy as they prepare for the many exciting activities planned for this term.
We finished last term with our annual Sports day event where we saw records being broken and absolutely wonderful support for all of the participants. The final winners of the day were once again Orchard House. Congratulations to the students and to Mr Crozier and Mr Larkins who organised the event, and all the teachers who supervised and helped make it a memorable day.
PTA Meeting and Conversation with the Counsellors
Join us next Wednesday, 11 April for our PTA meeting at 8:15am, followed by a "Conversation with the Counsellors" session from 8:30am at Paterson Campus in Changi Hall (Elementary School Building).
Ms. Contreras and Ms. Sekhon will talk about "Building Resilience in Children" - raising children who are determined to work through challenges and difficulties (i.e. relationship conflicts, disappointments, peer pressure etc.).

Model United Nations
A few words from Sayma, one of the students to attend SIMUN. "This year was the 14th SIMUN Conference at Lycée Francais De Singapour (The French School of Singapore) where ISS students took part from the 15th, 16th and 17th of March. It was great mix of networking with people from around the world and working with a diverse range of students to create resolutions to world issues in specific committees."
Dr Ford and Mr Cordray expressed how well the delegates spoke within their groups and were truly outstanding role models. Congratulations to all of the students that took part in such a meaningful event.
TedEx Youth Event
Grace from Grade 11 did ISS proud as a presenter at the TEDEx Youth Event held at Hwa Chong International School. She presented in front of over 200 people on Child Hunger and Mr Jungo informs me that it was "one of the best presentations at the event". Her talk will be available on YouTube in the near future. Congratulations to Grace and Mr Jungo for mentoring her.

During March we focused on the IB Learner Profile Thinker. "We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyse and take responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions."
