Our MYP swim gala was a great success, although a delayed start due to the thunder and lightening, we did manage to complete the gala. Our captains were well organised and encouraged their teams to get involved, and with a wonderful competitive atmosphere, much enthusiasm and cheering we celebrated Somerset as the eventual winners. Our Grade 11 and 12 students were in school, in the dry, working on their Core IB components; ToK, CAS, EE and subject IA's, it was a productive day and students and teachers alike said it was not just a purposeful day, but also very successful.
This Friday we have our International Day at Paterson campus. Here is a link about the whole day: LINK Also this Friday the first reports of the academic year will be available. The Semester One Interim Report will be available via ManageBac. This report contains a comment from each student’s Kampong teacher and an assessment of the Approaches To Learning (ATL) for each subject. The Kampong comment will review the student's start to the school year. The ATLs indicate how each student has settled into the class and their commitment to learn. These reports can be further discussed at Parent Teacher Conferences, that happen on the Monday 31st October and Wednesday 9th November. A link will be sent out this coming week for sign-ups.
Service Learning at ISS
Our students are involved in many CAS and Service Learning activities, last week we had a group in the Breast Cancer Run and this week we had students climbing to the 40th floor at Suntec in aid of KK Hospital. This Monday we have a group of entrepreneurs (Junior Achievement Company Programme) selling MINDFUL MUGS that they have designed to support the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. Please contact the group if you wish to purchase a Mug: 9018@iss.edu.sg
